Transportation & Busing

-
The Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District contracts its bus service through GO Riteway (715-726-2454).
A rerouting request is a form that allows a student to ride a bus to a location other than their home. The request must be approved by the bus company and must not add time or distance to the student's regular route.
To request a rerouting, please contact GO Riteway at 715-726-2454. You will need to provide the following information:
- Your child's name and school
- The date(s) and time(s) of the rerouting request
- The location to which you would like your child to be routed
- A 24-hour notice is required for all rerouting requests.
Rerouting requests must stay within the student's school attendance boundaries. Requests for split families, in-home daycares, and other situations will also need to be within the student's school attendance boundary.
The bus company will review your request and notify you of their decision within 24 hours. If your request is approved, the bus company will provide transportation to the requested location.
Additional Information:
- Each family will need to create a consistent weekly schedule for the school year that is in place by August 1, 2024. Parents will be required to provide a calendar identifying dates, or busing will be denied for an alternate location. Families should also create an alternate release schedule in the event that school closes early.
- Transportation will be provided to the 4K centers, Tiny Tree Academy, and Boys & Girls Club of the Chippewa Valley when logistically possible.
-
GO Riteway will send you information about your child's bus stop, pick-up time, and drop-off time.
- If you don't receive this information by mid-August or if your address has changed, please contact the bus company.
- Elementary school buses will seat students by grade level, with kindergarten students in the front, first graders behind them, and so on.
- Middle school and high school buses will seat students by grade levels, with middle school students in the front half of the bus and high school students in the back half.
- Seating charts are utilized on GO Riteway buses; these seating arrangements may change during the school year due to student misbehavior or for other valid reasons.
